Goons assault mechanic for not favouring particular candidate

Saharsa : An electric mechanic Mohd Salauddin was assaulted and seriously injured by some goons on May 24, 2017, at Sarrahi Chowk under Sadar police station, Saharsa, for allegedly not casting his vote in favour of a particular candidate in Saharsa Nagar Parishad polls held on May 21. After thrashing Salauddin, the goons threw him into a drain. The locals saw him and rushed him to Saharsa Sadar Hospital where his condition continues to be serious.

Salauddin is a resident of Mir Tola which falls under Ward No 7 of Saharsa Nagar Parishad. His wife Shakila Khatoon said that Salauddin had arguments with one of the candidates from Ward No 7 during electioneering. That candidate lost in the poll and in anger beat Salauddin him with sticks, she alleged. Sadar police station has recorded the statement of Shakila Khatoon and taking necessary action.
