Ara : Bike borne criminals shot dead a gold merchant Dhananjay Soni in Anand Nagar locality under Town police station, Ara, in Bhojpur district, on March 18, 2019, and sped away. Tension runs high in and around the area following the incident.
Police rushed to the spot and after pacifying the locals brought the body over to Sadar Hospital, Ara, for post-mortem. The reason behind the incident is still to be ascertained. An FIR has been lodged with Town police station, Ara, but no arrest has so far been made in this connection.
SHO, Ara Town police station, said that some motorcycle borne armed miscreant intercepted and fired indiscriminately on gold merchant Dhananjay Soni, son of Raghubir Prasad Soni, near Deghar bridge beside the Piparhiya Mor in Anand Nagar locality when he was going to his shop on his motorcycle. Dhananjay Soni received bullet injuries on his head and fell from his motorcycle and died on the spot, the SHO said. The deceased was a resident of village Akhgao. Police seized his motorcycle from the place of occurrence. The SHO said that the miscreants would be arrested very soon. Raghubir Prasad Soni, father of the deceased, said that Dhananjay never quarrelled with anyone.
