Bagaha : General Manager (GM), East Central Railway (ECR), Hajipur, Lalit Chandra Trivedi, accompanied by Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Samastipur, R K Jain, travelled by a Railway Saloon Car from Valmikinagar Road Railway station to Narakatiaganj Junction on March 19, 2019, and inspected the on going railway electrification work and earth work for doubling of railways track on the section, extension of platform and station beautification works during his brief stoppage at every station.
GM Trivedi said that electrification work would be completed by end of the March this year and electric train engines will start running on the section from April. He said that Valmikinagar Road Railway Station located under Valmiki Tiger Reserve (VTR)would be developed from tourism point of view. Traffic congestion on this route would be solved after doubling of the track, the GM said.
Several local leaders including Umesh Gupta met the GM and handed him over a list of their demands including introduction of a direct train from Valmikinagar Road Railway station to state capital Patna and resumption of passenger train services from Narakatiaganj junction to Gorakhpur Junction which was stopped several months back. The GM assured construction of a Foot Over Bridge at Harinagar Railway Station.
