Saharsa :  A young Dental Surgeon Dr Kishore Kumar Bhaskar, a resident of Sant Nagar under Sadar Police Station, Saharsa, was shot dead in his Maruti Alto car on March 19, 2019, afternoon, by an unidentified person near Bajnathpatti area when he was returning to Saharsa from village Aaran.

Circumstantial evidence suggest the assailant was probably sitting on the rear seat of the car and shot at Dr Bhaskar from behind. The murder of Dr Bhaskar, a native of village Khajuri in Saharsa district, in broad daylight has created sensation in the area. A loaded pistol and a wallet containing Rs 10,000 was reportedly found in the car. Police are yet to ascertain the reason behimd Dr Bhaskar’s murder.

The car remained standing on the road after the murder of Dr Bhaskar but no one took notice of it. Mukhia of Bajnathpatti Kewal Yadav saw Dr Bhaskar slump on the steering wheel of the car around 4 pm. He immediately informed Sadar police station, Saharsa, about it.

SI Subhash Singh reached the place of occurrence and sent the body to Sadar Hospital, Saharsa, for post-mortem. Several doctors reached Sadar Hospital after getting news about the murder of Dr Bhaskar. But, no senior police officer including SP, Saharsa, Rakesh Kumar, visited Sadar Hospital. SDPO, Saharsa, Prabhakar Tiwary, visited Saharsa residence of Dr Bhaskar and spoke to his wife and other family members.
