Gas agency owner shot at in Gopalganj

Gopalganj: Armed criminals shot at Pankaj Kumar Ram at Dharikchan Mor under Bhore police station in Gopalganj district and looted his bike and cellphone. Some of the locals saw Ram lying on the road and admitted him to Bhore Referral Hospital where the attending doctors referred him to Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh.

Locals said that Ram, son of former mukhiya of Bheriya panchayat under Kateya block Gyanti Devi, owns a gas agency at village Mela Dharhara. He had to visit his relative’s house at Farusan village in Vijayeepur to invite him for his sister’s marriage. He also had to visit Hardiya village in Bhore.

Locals said that as he left Hardiya village and reached Dharikchan Mor on Bhore-Vijayeepur main road, two youth waved at him to stop. As Ram slowed down his bike, one of the youth opened fire at him and the bullet stuck in his abdomen and he fell on the road. The two youth snatched Ram’s cellphone and sped away on his bike towards Bhore.

On getting information, local police reached the spot and recorded Ram’s statement. Bhore ps SHO Gautam Kumar said that raids were on to arrest those involved in the incident.
