Motihari  : The brutal rape of a 12 year old girl of village Bediban under Piprakothi police station in East Champaran district on June 13 by two persons of the same village triggered protest by different organisations at Motihari. The protestors blocked Motihari- Muzaffarpur NH 28 demanding immediate arrest of the two accused and their speedy trial. The  girl has been admitted to Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH) in critical condition.

Some students also blocked the roads in town alleging that some police officials were conniving with the accused. The survivor was likely to be operated on Thursday at PMCH and the people collected money for her treatment. Meanwhile, the father of the girl has complained to police that two of his villagers were asking him to withdraw the rape case failing which his son would be kidnapped. But, the police did not take notice of the complain. It may be recalled here that the two accused were arrested and remanded to jail custody in this case.

Meanwhile, another rape victim, a minor girl, is admitted to Motihari sadar hospital since June 17 but her medical examination was done on June 22. The girl was raped twice by a youth of village Jamui under Ramgarhwa police station and the same man entered in her house on June 15 dragged her out, stripped her and inserted an iron rod in her private part. A case was lodged in this regard  but police were yet to arrest the accused even after lapse of five days.
