Bokaro (Jharkhand) : The four-day National Art Camp cum Exhibition, ‘Rang-Smriti’, organized at DPS Bokaro in Jharkhand concluded on January 30, 2020. It was the first of its kind art-camp in Jharkhand which began on January 27, 2020, to widen the artistic prospective of the budding artists. The art camp was organised by DPS Bokaro in association with ONGC and India Telling. The Art Camp was inaugurated by R P Pandey, Asset Manager, ONGC, Coal Belt, Mission Project-Bokaro.
Renowned artists like Ravindra Kumar Das, Anjali Prakash, Ramanuj Shekhar, Dipankar Karmakar, Binita Bondopadhyay, Lalit Kumar Sharma, and Rajesh Ranjan exhibited their artwork live and fine-tuned the skill of the students from across Bokaro District who participated at the camp.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Principal, DPS Bokaro, and students from different schools enthusiastically visited it. It was indeed an amalgamation of three wonderful occasions as DPS Bokaro commemorated the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, 72nd Martyrs’ Day, and the 103rd Birth Anniversary of the renowned painter Amrita Sher-Gil.
Principal, DPS Bokaro, A S Gangwar, said, “The Art Workshop was one of its kind and held for the first time in Jharkhand.” Appreciating the paintings of Mahatma Gandhi made by the reputed artists and the young students at the Art Camp, Gangwar thanked the artists under whose mentorship young budding artists were trained.
