Gopalganj: In an incident of road rage surpassing all limits of cruelty, a cartpuller was crushed to death while two others sustained serious injuries by some youth in drunken state moving on a four-wheeler, as he could not give pass to them at Bhengari village under Bhore police station in Gopalganj district late December 19 evening. The injured were first admitted to Bhore primary health centre (PHC) from where they were referred to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital in a serious condition.
Eyewitnesses said that Kailash Ram (45), a native of village Mauze Sisai under Bhore police station, was on way to his village on his thela from Bhengari Bazaar. Some youth moving on a four-wheeler coming from Bhengari tried to overtake the thela but there was no adequate space left on the road. This enraged the youths, who overtook thela after sometime, turned their vehicle and crushed the thelapuller killing him on the spot. Two other cyclists also sustained serious injuries as they also came in contact of the four-wheeler. Not satisfied with their act, the youth stopped their four-wheeler and reached the place where the thela-puller lay dead. They left the spot after confirming that the thelapuller had died.
On getting information, Bhore ps SHO Gautam Kumar reached the spot and sent the body for autopsy.Later, the police recovered the vehicle abandoned near Lachchichak village. Hathwa SDPO Imteyaz Ahmad said that raids were on arrest the youth on the basis of the registration number of the four-wheeler.
