Gopalganj: One Chandan Kumar Yadav, husband of Bhore Panchayat Samiti member Suman Devi, has lodged a complaint against six persons with Bhore police station in Gopalganj district alleging that the accused had demanded a rangdari of Rs 3 lakh from him. When Yadav resisted, the accused not only assaulted him but also snatched his gold chain.
Police said that Yadav was working in his field at village Lachchichak at around 9.30 am on December 19. Over half a dozen persons including Nand Lal Bhagat, Pramod Bhagat and Rajesh Bhagat of the same village reached there and demanded Rs 3 lakh as rangdari from him.
Police, quoting Yadav, said that the accused asked him to cough up the money if he is interested in carrying out works in the field. They also assaulted Yadav when he resisted and also snatched his gold chain worth Rs 35,000. They also warned Yadav that if he wants to carry out works in the village, he would have to pay rangdari. Later, in the day, Yadav lodged a complaint with the Bhore police station. Bhore ps SHO Gautam Kumar said that the accused would be arrested soon.
