Patna: Four persons were arrested by Aurangabad police late on Sunday evening from a bridge over river Batane under Mufassil police stationfor possessing nine quintals Ganja. A Tata Magic was also seized as the narcotics was being transported on the four-wheeler. A Mufassil police team, on a tip off,  intercepted a four-wheeler on national highway (NH)-2.

Aurangabad SP Satyaprakash said that the arrested persons had been identified as Raushan Kumar, Ramlakhan Prasad, Upendra Giri and Rukhi Sao, all natives of villages falling under the jurisdictions of Daudnagar and Haspura police stations in the district. The arrested persons have confessed their involvement in smuggling of ganja and have revealed vital information, he added.  The narcotic was being brought over to Aurangabad for local consumption. The smugglers generally use NH-2, popularly known as Grand Trunk Road, for smuggling of ganja, sources said
