Bagaha : Police have arrested four persons in connection with a clash near Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk, Ramnagar, under Ramnagar police station in West Champaran district, on October 2, 2017, evening, after immersion of idols of Goddess Durga. The arrested persons were sent to Bagaha jail.

The arrested persons were identified as Ramchandar Dom, son of Jagadish Dom of tola Sisawania, Mushtqim Mian, son of Rashul Mian of Chhathiya ghat, Afatab Alam, son of Khalilullah of Chhathiya tola, Narainpur, and Ramchandra Turaha, son of Bhagan Turaha of Karuyania tola under Nagar panchayat, Ramnagar. The two sides clashed over some rumour spread by rumour mongers.

Bagaha SP Arbind Kumar Gupta on October 6, 2017, said that three FIRs had been lodged with Ramnagar police station in connection with the incident. While two cases were lodged by the rival sides, the third case was lodged by a magistrate on duty in which about 50 persons of both the sides  were made named and over 500 unnaned accused.
