Muzaffarpur : The flood situation continues to be grim under Sakra, Kurhani and Musahari blocks of Muzaffarpur district even as the water level of Gandak, Budhi Gandak and Bagmati is coming down.
The district administration has arranged for makeshift toilets, drinking water and tents in the flood affected areas. It is running 350 community kitchens in the flood affected areas of the district.DM Dharmendra Singh said that the district administration had pressed into service 222 boats for carrying out relief works besides setting up 162 health camps. The DM said that the district administration is identifying houses damaged in the flood.
The flood has inundated 84,ooo hectare agricultural land in the district. The standing crops on 45,000 hectare of land have been completely destroyed.
