Bagaha : Circle Officer (CO), Thakaraha Block under Bagaha Sub-division in West Champaran district, Rakesh Kumar, on May 8, 2017, lodged an FIR against nine persons including a Kerosene oil wholesale dealer in connection with black marketing of Kerosene oil.

Giving this information, SDM, Bagaha, Dharmendra Kumar said that a team of officials, on the direction of West Champaran DM Lokesh Kumar Singh, conducted an inquiry into the matter for two days and came to conclusion that Ranjan Jyoti Service proprietor Naraiyan Singh, a wholesale dealer of kerosene oil, his Munsi Chhatri Yadav of Malahi under Thakaraha block, in connivance with seven Public distribution system (PDS) dealers, were selling Kerosene oil in black market for long.

The probe team, in course of verification, found a stock of 7,000 litres Kerosene oil in a tanker on the business premises of the wholesale dealer.It was suspected that Kerosene oil was kept in the tanker for black marketing. When the team conducted raids on premises of 7 PDS dealers under Thakaraha and Bhitaha blocks, it became clear that they had not lifted Kerosene oil from the wholesale dealer’s stock but their stock registers showed they had lifted Kerosene oil and  distributed the same among consumers in the month of April 2017.
