FIR lodged against 4 persons for embezzlement of Govt. fund

Ara : A named FIR has been lodged with Jagdishpur police station against four persons including the President and Secretary, Execution and Management Committee of Haradiya Panchayat Ward No 5 under Jagdishpur block, in connection with alleged embezzlement of government fund meant for the supply of drinking water to every house under Chief Minister’s Seven Resolution scheme.

A water tower, constructed to supply drinking water to every house of Haradiya Panchayat Ward No 5 under  Jagdishpur block under Chief Minister’s Seven Resolution scheme, fell to ground within a fortnight of construction. Block Panchayati Raj Officer (BPRO) along with junior engineer, MNREGA, visited the spot and found that the water tower was not built as per the tender and standard and sub-standard materials were used. It was also found that the fund was allotted to the contractor on time but the contractor did not submitted vouchers of purchased materials to the Secretary.

The BPRO instituted a named FIR against the President and Secretary, Execution and Management Committee, Haradiya Panchayat Ward No 5 of Jagdishpur block, Shiv Prasad Ram, son of Jagjiwan Ram, and Nirmal Kumar, son of Laxman Prasad, respectively and two contractors: Dheeraj Kumar and K K Singh.
