Ara: Bhojpur District Magistrate Birendra Prasad Yadav directed thas asked the Executive Engineers, Water resources  department, and the sub-divisional magistrates to lodge FIR against the persons who have stopped canal water by putting hurdle in the middle of the canal preventing the water from reaching the tail end.

As a result, farmers at the lower end of land are facing a lot of problems in irrigating their field and also in transplantation work. The DM has also directed the officials concerned to supply of water for through the canals till the tail end. The DM also directed the SDO, Ara, Navdeep Shukla to review the availability of water in the canal with the executive engineer Sudhir Sharma daily after 8pm. The executive engineer has to submit daily report in this regard. The DM directed the officials to remove the hurdles from the middle of canal and ensure water reaches the tail end.

The executive engineer said that hurdles were removed and farmers, who were trying to put hurdles to stop water, were chased away. He said that the water has rached up to 74.69 km now and reach further from Sunday facilitating completion of  transplantation work in the remaining areas under  in Udwantnagar and Ara blocks.
