Patna : World No 2 in ATP rankings and winner of 20 Grand Slam singles title Roger Federer, 37, Switzerland, and World No 10 and winner of 13 Grand Slam titles Novak Djokovic, 31, Serbia, will clash in the final of Cincinnati Masters at Mason, Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, on August 20, 2018. Federer and Djokovic have not played each other in the last two years. Djokovic has a 11-6 head to head record against Federer.

Seven time champion Federer entered the final after his opponent and World No 11 Davd Goffin, Belgium, retired in the second set in their semi-finals match on August 18. Goffin retired trailing 1-0 and 1-1 in the second set. Federer fired 9 Aces in the match to 1 by Goffin. Federer won the first set 7-6.

Djokovic beat World No 7 Marin Cilic, 29, Croatia, in a three-set thriller 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 in the first semi-finals on August 18, 2018, late night. Cilic hammered 12 Aces in the match to 8 by Djokovic. Both the players committed 4 double faults each. Djokovic won 4 break points to 3 by Cilic. Both the players won three games in arow each in the match. Djokovic has never won singles title in Cincinnati Masters.
