Farmer shot dead in W Champaran

Bettiah : Unidentified criminals shot dead a farmer Sheikh Anwarul Haq,  40, son of Sheikh Hafiz of Kadamawa village under Gopalpur police station under Narakatiaganj sub- division in West champaran, on March 7 evening near Kadamawa ghat when he was returning from Sarisawa market after purchasing vegetables. Sources said that the armed criminals shot him dead from behind. A land dispute is said to be reason behind the murder. Police brought the body to MJK hospital, Bettiah, for autopsy. ASP, Bettiah, Rajesh Kumar, along with Gopalpur, Majhaulia and Chanpatia police reached the spot on March 8 morning and inquired into the matter but no arrest has been in connection with the murder, sources said.
