Ara : Some unidentified bike borne armed miscreants shot dead a farmer leader Kamlesh Singh, 50, of village Srirampur under Udwantnagar police station in Bhojpur District on December 24, 2019, late evening.
Police brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. SHO, Udwantnagar police station, said that Kamlesh Singh was returning home on his motorcycle from Udwantnagar Bazaar on December 24 late evening and as he reached near railway crossing, bike borne miscreants intercepted and shot him dead and escaped from the scene.
The family members said that Kamlesh Singh used to raise voices against black marketing and touts and posted his comments on social media that caused tensions between him and the black marketers and middlemen who frequently threatened him with dire consequences. They further said that Kamlesh Singh had written some comments on Facebook against the black marketers on December 19, 2019, saying he was keeping close eyes on them.
SDPO Ambrish Rahul confirmed the murder and said thatpolice were investigating into the incident and also conducting raids to arrest the miscreants.
