Farmer crushed to death by speeding tractor at Bhojpur village

Ara : A speeding sand laden tractor crushed to death a farmer Hridyanand Mahto, 40, near Nonaur bridge under Sahar police station in Bhojpur district on November 17, 2018, evening. Irate villagers blocked Sakadi-Nasariganj main road for about two hours after the incident with the body paralysing movement of vehicles. They were demanding arrested of the tractor driver and compensation to the deceased’s family.

The blockade was lifted after positive response from the officials. Police brought the body over to Sadar Hospital, Ara, for post-mortem. Police seized the tractor.

Station House Officer, Sahar police station, Sanjay Kumar said that Hridyanand Mahto, son of Thakur Prasad of village Latiyarganj under Azimabad police station, was returning from Nonaur Bazaar. When he reached near Nonaur bridge on Karbasin-Nonaur main road under Sahar police station, a speeding sand laden tractor crushed him to death, the SHO said.
