Farmer beaten to death in clash at Bhojpur village

Ara : A middleage farmer Ranjeet Singh, 40, was beaten to death and over half a dozen persons injured at village Baligaon under Ayar police station on July 28, 2017, evening, in a clash between two groups over possession of a plot.Tension prevails in and around the village after the incident.

Later, police brought the body to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. Police arrested two persons: Sumant Singh and his son Manish Singh, in this connection with e incident.Police force was deployed at the village to maintain law and order.

SDPO, Jagdishpur, Dayashankar Singh, said that Ranjeet Singh and Sumant Singh of Baligaon under Ayar police station had long standing dispute over a piece of land. On July 28 afternoon, Ranjeet Singh along with some others went to plough the field but another group headed by Sumant and his son Manish Singh objected to it. Both the groups had a verbal fight and within second the situation took an ugly look. Later, one of the groups lynched Ranjeet Singh to death. Over half a  dozen persons were also injured in the clash.
