Ara : Kamal Kishore Mishra, an eyewitness in the murder of the then Bihar BJP Vice-President Bisheshwar Ojha on February 12, 2016, was shot dead while another person Amarkant Mishra was seriously injured in broad daylight by some unidentified armed miscreants at village Sonbarsha under Karnamepur police outpost area in Bhojpur district on September 28, 2018, afternoon. The injured was admitted to Shahpur Referral Hospital but was later referred to Sadar Hospital, Ara. Police brought the body to the Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
The irate villagers forced the traders and the businessmen of the area to down their shutters after the incident. Senior police officials including the ASP (Operation) Nitin Kumar rushed to the spot and are camping there. Tension runs high in and around Sonbarsha village following the incident.
An FIR has been lodged with Karnamepur police outpost against Brajesh Mishra and his brother Kishun Mishra, both sons of Shivjeet Mishra. They are prime accused in the murder of the BJP leader Bisheshwar Ojha. Shivjeet Mishra is languishing in Ara jail while Brajesh Mishra and Kishun Mishra are absconding though Bhojpur police had conducted raids several times at their residence.
ASP (Operation) Nitin Kumar said that Kamal Kishor Mishra of village Sonbarsha under Karnamepur police outpost was going to the market to bring fodder for his cattle when some armed miscreants waylaid him and pumped at least six bullets into his body killing him on the spot and escaped from the scene. Seeing this, another villager Amarkant Mishra raised an alarm but the miscreants also shot at and injured him.
Police had conducted raid at the house of Kamal Kishor Mishra two months back for allegedly possessing an AK47 but nothing was found. Kamal Kishor Mishra had reportedly posted his statement in his Facebook account after the police raid. It is said that Kamal Kishor Mishra was living under constant fear as he was being threatened by his opponents to withdraw himself as a witness in the murder of the BJP leader Bisheshwar Ojha. Police had provided security to him but later the security was withdrawn.
Bisheshwar Ojha, 38, son of Raj Kishore Ojha, was shot dead on February 12, 2016 when he was going to Barisawan on his Scorpio. When he reached near Karnamepur-Sonbarasa Bazaar under Shahpur police station, about two dozen unidentified armed miscreants waylaid and fired on him with AK-47 in full public view killing him on the spot.
Bisheshwar Ojha had contested assembly election from Shahpur assembly constituency as BJP candidate in place of his sister-in-law (brother’s wife) and sitting MLA unsuccessfully. He had also unsuccessfully contested Bihar Legislative Council polls earlier. He also carried Rs 25,000 award on his head before joining the BJP.
