Patna : England were 114/2 in 43 overs in their second innings at stumps on day 3 of the 5th cricket test against India at Kennington Oval, London, on September 9, 2018, with opener Alastair Cook batting on 46 in 125 ball 6 with 3 fours and captain Joe Root batting on 29 in 43 ball with 5 fours. England lead by 154 runs. Opener Keaton Jennings was out for 10 to pacer Mohammad Shami while Moeen Ali fell to spinner Ravindra Jadeja for 20.

Earlier, India were all out for 292 in their first innings in the second session of the play. Allrounder Ravindra Jadeja remained unbeaten on 86 with 11 fours and six while Hanuma Vihari scored 56 with 7 fours and a six in his debut test. England had scored 332 in their first innings.
