Patna: Bihar cabinet on Friday sanctioned proposals of the health department to dismiss from service eight  government doctors posted at different places in the state.They are being dismissed for remaining absent from their places of posting for more than five years.

The dismissed  doctors include  Dr Leela Sinha, Dr Nikhil Kumar Rohatagi, Dr Navin Kumar, Dr Deendra Kumar Singh, Dr Raghvendra Jha, Dr Manju Nath, Dr Brajkishore Prasad Singh and Dr Jayshree Sinha.

Sudhir Kumar Jha, Excise superintendent, Kaimur district was allso dismissed following departmental proceedings.

The Cabinet meeting chaired by CM Nitish Kumar also approved a proposal of education department to release Rs 850 crore for payment of salaries to 22,587 secondary school teachers, 11,159 primary school teachers and 118 Librarians.

Under the enhanced teachers effectiveness in Bihar, eight new teachers’ training colleges and five district education training institutes  will be set up with an investment of Rs 181 crore and 1,856 teachers training institutes will be opened at 1,56 places with an investment of Rs  162 crores.

For police modernisation, Rs 40.40 crore, for horticulture mission Rs 47.70 crore and for Hariyali mission Rs 27 crore was sanctioned for 20 forest divisions. Under the land water conservation scheme, Rs 30 crores was sanctioned.

Three courts  of sub- judge woould be created in Muzaffarpur district,according to another decision. In all 41 items on agenda were approved.
