Ara: Officials of education department are searching for about Rs 65 crore meant for construction of school buildings. They are neither getting the money moucher (MV) nor any documents in this regard. In the meantime, the education department has again sanctioned fund to some schools for the second time triggering a controversy.

Education department office in Bhojpur district had allotted Rs 65 crore to 184 primary and middle schools of the  district for construction of new school buildings, headmaster chambers and additional classrooms. The amount was allotted from the financial year 2006-2007 to financial year 2015-2016. The amount was withdrawn from the account of the Vidyalay Shiksha Samiti and its MV was also issued.

District Programme Officer (DPO) Md Irshad Ansari said that Primary Education and Sarv Shiksha Abhiyaan officials asked the Headmasters of Primary and Middle Schools concerned several times to complete the work and submit report and utilization certificates but to no avail so far. So this time, they have been warned that an FIR would be lodged with the police against them if they did not complete the work within 15 days and submit report with photographs and utilization certificates of the fund allotted to them. He said most the schools have neither MV nor documents and paper related to sanctioned amount which is a matter of serious concern.
