Buxar:  Traders and businessmen of Dumraon in Buxar district kept their shutters down on Sunday and observed a complete bandh to protest failure of Buxar to arrest the murderers of a businessman even after lapse of about two months. They took out procession on Sunday morning and forced closure of shops and business establishments and raised slogans against police administration. They charged the local police with shielding the accused. The traders said they would be forced to launch an aggressive agitation if police did not arrest the miscreants at the earliest.

Some armed miscreants had shot dead a Dumraon businessman Surendra Prasad Gupta near MM College about 100 metre way from the Dumrao Town police station on April 19, 2016. An FIR had been lodged with Dumrao police station in this connection on the statement of wife of the deceased, Mala Gupta, and the police had promised to arrest the miscreants within two days.
