Bokaro ( Jharkhand) :  After the recently concluded Students Council Election 2017, an Investiture Ceremony was conducted at Delhi Public School  Bokaro in Jharkhand on July 2o, 2017, to mark the beginning of a new regime led by the recently elected students as new council members. The Chief Guest of the event was P R Naidu, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO).

Harmeet Singh Saluja &  Pratyush Kumar Shandilya have been elected to the post of Head Boy and Shalu Agarwal &  Ramsha Naushad to the Head Girl. Soham Mohanty and  Ankush have been elected to the post of Vice Head Boys while Stuti Taneja  and Shreya Supriya have been elected to the post of Vice Head Girls of the school. The Secretaries elected are: Aarav and Shambhavi as Cultural Secretary, Rashi Bharti and  Sanchit Singh as Literary Secretary while  Aryan Anand, Divyanshu Ranjan  along with  Tvisha Thakur as Sports Secretary. Two students have been elected for each post in boys  and girls group separately.

The new appointees were presented their badges by the Chief Guest and the outgoing council members were given certificates for their outstanding work.The Chief Guest administered an oath to them in the true spirit of the school’s motto ‘Service Before Self ’. The school flag was handed over by the outgoing council to the guest, who presented it to the Head Boy and Head Girl of the new Council, 2017.  He congratulated the newly elected members for their new roles and bigger responsibilities ahead.

Hemlata S Mohan, Director cum  Principal of DPS Bokaro, congratulated the new council members and wished them the best in their new journey. She said that students of  today are going to become  citizens tomorrow and she  believes that  every student has the potential to emerge as a leader and serve India. “ The school provides an ideal opportunity to all the students  to experience the democratic election environment to understand better process of electing officials and the power of the voter. Such activities acquaint them with the setting up of a unique agenda, prepare an election manifesto, rallying up for a campaign and most importantly keeping up the spirit of the contest high without getting  demotivated,” Hemlata S Mohan said.
