Bagaha: West Champaran DM Lokesh Kumar Singh convened a meeting of district officials including police on Thursday at Vikas Bhavan and discussed ways to maintain law and order during Mahaviri Jhanda processions which are taken out from different places in the district. The DM appealled the people of the district to observe Jhanda divas in a peaceful atmosphere. The DM asked police officials not to allow Jhanda procession by organisations without obtaining licence for the purpose.
The DM directed for deployment of adequate police force and static magistratesat sensitive places.Bagaha police district SP Anand Kumar Singh informed the district magistrate that peace committees had been formed at every sansitive village and town comprising every community of the society to maintain harmony. West Champaran SP Vinay Kumar informed the DM that all police officials had. Bagaha,Bettiah and Narakatiaganj SDMs were also present on the occasion.
