Patna : DIG, Central Range, Rajesh Kumar, on August 2, 2018, directed all the SDPOs, Inspectors and Investigating Officers (IOs) of all the police stations to ensure time bound investigation in all the cases to reduce the number of pending cases besides checking wrong intention of supervisory officers and IOs concerned.

DIG Kumar has asked them to strictly follow 5 points for effective investigation in a case to ensureĀ  speedy action and justice to the victims failing which stern action will be taken against them.

The DIG, Central Range, in an apparent move to improve the functiong of police stations, has asked the SDPOs and Circle Inspectors to complete the supervision of a case within 10 days of the lodging of an FIR. If they fail to do so, it will be concluded that they were incapable of doing the job and the same task would be assigned to some other SDPO/ Inspector.

The DIG has also asked the SDPOs/Inspectors to review the progress of investigation into a case within 25 days. They have also been asked to procure the injury and other test reports within 10 days of lodging of a case. The officials have also been told to procure the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report within 30 days. The officials concerned have been directed to complete attachment proceedings within three days of getting the order for the same.

DIG Kumar has asked the officials that barring exceptional cases, the chargsheet should be filed within 60 days of lodging of a case.
