Dhanbad:  Dhanbad CBI court special judge Piyush  Kumar on August 24 sentenced to three years rigorous imprisonment Vijay Kumar, former assistant  manager of State Bank of India, Bokaro thermal , for demanding a bribe of   Rs 8,000 from a person for release of his loan of  Rs 3.13 lakh for buying tractor  for commercial purpose. The court also slapped a fine of Rs 8,000 on Vijay Kumar.

According to complainant Pritam Kumar, who lodged his complaint  with Dhanbad CBI office in Jharkhand, Vijay Kumar  was not forwarding his loan application pending at his table  since October 2009 after which  CBI office was contacted  and trap was laid for the assistant manager .

On  October 28,  2009,  the complainant went to the residence  of VIjar Kumar along with the demanded  bribe money and as soon as the banker accepted the cash, waiting CBI sleuths  arrested  the banker with cash which was handed over to the complainant by CBI. Later  on the same date, the  CBI registered a case  against the accused  and the charge -sheet in this case  was  filed on January 7, 2010. The case was being contested in the trial court  since 2010 and court found the accused guilty and convicted him .
