Patna : The elections to the 70-member Legislative Assembly of NCT of Delhi will be held in a single phase on February 8 at 13,750 polling stations and results will be declared on February 11, 2020.

Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora while announcing the poll schedule at a presser on January 6, 2020, said the notification for the polls will be issued on January 14 while the last  date of withdrawal of candidature will be January 24. With the announcement of poll schedule, Model Code of Conduct has come into effect immediately.

The term of Legislative Assembly of NCT of Delhi will expire on February 22, 2020. Of the 70 assembly seats, 12 are reserved for the SCs. The total number of electors, as per final electoral rolls published on January 6, 2020, is 1,47,03,692 including 11,556 service voters. The EPIC coverage in NCT of Delhi is  100%, according to a PIB release.

The election is likely to witness a three-cornered contest involving the ruling Aam Aadmi Party, the BJP and the Congress. In the 2015 polls, Arvind Kejriwal had led the AAP to a unprecedented victory with his party bagging 67 seats leaving just three seats for the BJP.
