Police SI arrested in drunken state at Motihari, suspended

Motihari : A Sub-Inspector (SI) of police posted at Mufasil police station, Motihari, in East Champaran District in North Bihar, Munna Kumar Singh, was  arrested by police in a drunken state on January 6, 2020, on police station campus. It is said that a police constable had informed  his senior officers about the conduct of SI Singh.

SI Munna Kumar  Singh was taken to  Motihari Sadar hospital where the  breath analyser  test confirmed that he had consumed liquor. Later on, he was arrested for violation of Prohibition & Excise Act  and produced before the court of CJM. The court remanded him to judicial custody.

East Champaran SP Nawin Chandra Jha confirmed  this  news and said that the SI has been placed under suspension and   departmental proceedings would be initiated against him.
