Patna : Delhi Capitals (DC) beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 2 wickets in the IPL-12 Eliminator at Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Stadium, Visakhapatnam, on May 8, 2019, late night, and are through to Qualifier 2. DC will play CSK in the Qualifier 2 on May 10. Replying to SRH’s 162/8 in 20 overs, DC scored 165/8 in 19.5 overs in a photo finish. There was some drama in the last over before DC spinner Amit Mishra was declared out for obstructing the field. Keemo Paul hit the winning 4. SRH has so far played four Eliminators in the IPL but lost three of them.
For DC, opener Prithvi Shaw scored 56 in 38 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes while Rishabh Pant (wk) scored 49 in 21 balls hitting 2 fours and 5 sixes. Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan added 66 runs for the first wicket. Dhawan fell to Deepak Hooda for 14 while Shaw fell to fast bowler K Khaleel Ahmed. Captain Shreyas Iyer fell to Khaleel Ahmed for 8 while Colin Munro fell to spinner Rashid Khan for 14.
For SRH, Khaleel Ahmed, Bhuvneshwar Prasad, and Rashid Khan took two wickets each while Deepak Hooda took one wicket.
Batting first, SRH had scored 162/8 with opener Martin Guptil scoring 36 and Manish Pandey 30. Captain Kane Williamson scored 28 while Vijay Shankar scored 25.
