Sasaram : A profession dancer from Kolkata sustained bullet injury in her head in a celebratory firing during a marriage ceremony at village Dinara under Dinara police station in Rohtas district in the wee hour on April 7, 2019. The dancer fell  unconscious. The locals admitted her to the Primary Health Centre but the doctor referred her to Varanasi, UP, in view of her serious condition.

The villagers caught the person responsible for firing Md Ahmad Alam, son of Khalil Bhatt of Dinara, and thrashed him. In the meantime a patrolling police team reached the spot. The villagers handed over Md Ahmad Alam to police. Police seized a countrymade pistol and four blank cartridges from his possession. The injured professional dancer was identified as Shilpi Kumari of Kolkata. Police admitted an injured Alam to Dinara Primary Health Centre for treatment.

SHO, Dinara police station, Rajesh Kumar, said that a marriage ceremony of the daughter of Bikrama Singh of village Sarana,  who lived at village Dinara, was going on April 6, 2019, night. At about 2am some youth of village Dinara arrived and started forcing the dancer to dance to their tune, the SHO said. Meanwhile, Md Alam fired and a bullet hit the dancer in the back of her head and she fell  stage unconscious.
