BEd Part I girl examinees lodge FIR against Principal, H D Jain College, Ara

Ara : The girl examinees of BEd Part I lodged an FIR with Women’s police station, Ara, on April 7, 2019, evening, against the Principal, H D Jain College, Ara, Shailendra Ojha and some of his guards in connection with alleged misbehaviour with them in the name of physical checking on April 5, 2019.Principal, H D Jain College, Shailendra Ojha, instituted another FIR with Nawada police station, Ara, against the examinees charging them with damaging college property, disturbing the examination, and also forcing him to allow use of unfair means at the examination.

As the B.Ed Part I session 2017-2019 examination started at H D Jain College examination centre on April 5, the examinees went on rampage accusing the college administration of misbehaving with the girl students at the examination halls in the name of physical checking.

At least 950 examinees were to take B.Ed first year session 2017-2019 examination at the H D Jain College centre. The college administration started physical checking at the examination halls after which they resorted to demonstration and rampage. They became so violent that the Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU), Ara, had to cancel the paper of that day and also of April 6, 2019, of all the centres. The VKSU administration also cancelled the H D Jain College examination centre and made four new examination centres and directed the students to appear at the new examination centres as notified from April 8, 2019.

On April 7, 2019, girl students reached the Women’ police station and gave a written petition to the Station House Officer (SHO) Madhuri Kumari alleging that the Principal Shailendra Ojha and his guards misbehaved with them and also molested them especially the girls wearing saris and added that they touched them inappropriately with wrong intention and when they protested, the staff of the college argued that it was a part of physical checking. The college staffs also threatened to expel them if they objected checking.

SHO, Women’s Police Station, Madhuri Kumari said that the girl students have lodged an FIR against the Principal, H D Jain College, and his guards for misbehaving and molesting them and added that Bhojpur SP Aditya Kumar himself has taken cognizance in this regard. She said that stern action would be taken against the guilty after thorough investigation into the incident.

Shailendra Ojha, Principal, H D Jain College, refuted all charges and said that the examinees were determined to use unfair means at the examination which he objected to and so they went on rampage and damaged college property and tore away the answer-books and question papers. He said that Madhuri Sinha and Purti Mahaur were checking the girl students and it might be confirmed from Magistrate Om Prakash Singh and Observer Baijnath Singh deputed at the examination centre at that time.
