Patna : RJD leader and Danapur Nagar Parishad Ward Councillor Kedar Rai, 55, was shot dead near Saguna Mor, Danapur, in Patna district, at 5.45 am on August 10, 2017, by three bike borne criminals.
Kedar Rai, Councillor from Ward Number 15 of Danapur Nagar Parishad and a resident of Nayatola, Danapur, was on morning walk when three bike bike borne criminals, who were apparently waiting for him near Saguna Mor, fired three bullets on him and escaped. Kedar Rai was rushed to a private hospital by his family members where he died during treatment.
Danapur DSP Raman Chaudhary said that a named FIR had been lodged by Kedar Rai’s kin against 21 persons. The DSP said that the named accused include those with whom he had land dispute besides some political rivals. DSP Chaudhary said that police had arrested four named accused including Prashant, a political opponent of Kedar Rai.
