Nawada: Use of cycle as the vehicle for kidnapping-for-ransom surfaced with the arrest of the kidnapper along with the seven year child victim during Nawada SP’s press conference on Friday.  According to Nawada SP Vikas Dev Burman, Golu Kumar, the child victim was going for his daily tuition on Thursday afternoon when around 4 pm a cycle borne youth intercepted him near Kali Temple and informed that Bharat Singh, Golu’s father, desired to take his photograph and that he was sent to fetch Golu for the purpose.

The unsuspecting child agreed and Golu was thus whisked away by the 18 year old kidnapper Shivendra Kumar Yadav alias Babloo, son of Satyendra Prasad Yadav of Bishunpur village under Govindpur police station in Nawada district. Shivendra then rang up Fullu, nephew of Bharat Singh, and demanded Rs 8 lakh as ransom amount for the safe release of Golu.

Meanwhile, Bharat Singh, father of Golu, alarmed at Golu’s failure to return home, immediately informed Nawada town police on Thursday  itself which swung into action and recovered Golu from the clutches of Shivendra Yadav. Shivendra’s criminal track record is also being investigated into by the police, the SP said.
