Chhapra (Saran) : Three bike borne criminals made an abortive bid to loot a bag containing Rs 17 lakh cash from Amit Kumar,
a petrol pump owner, near the SBI branch located near Town Police Station, Chhapra, headquarters of Saran District in North Bihar, in broad daylight on November 11, 2019. But, the people present there foiled the loot bid of the criminals after which they shot at Amit Kumar and tried to flee. But, the public caught two of them and set afire their bike.
According to report, Amit Kumar was going to deposit the cash in SBI branch. But, as soon as he reached near bank
he was surrounded by criminals who tried to snatch his bag but he threw the bag away. The people present on the
spot challenged the criminals. The criminals then fired twice on Amit Kumar injuring him seriously. The public chased the
fleeing criminals and caught two of them and handed them over to police.
Alok Kumar, a relative of injured trader, said the condition of Amit Kumar was critical and he was admitted to a hospital. Police are quizzing the two arrested criminals.
