Motihari : An unidentified criminal has demanded Rs 4 lakh from owner of jewellery shop at Chorma market under Pakridayal police station in East Champaran district Prakash Kumar, 22, as rangdari' ( extortion amount). The criminal demanded `rangdari on Prakash’s mobile number on March 3, 2017, and threatened to kill him by March 10, 2017, if fails to pay Rs 4 lakh to him before that. Chorma is 6 km south from Pakridayal police station. Prakash lodged an FIR with Pakridayal police station on March 4.
SHO, Pakridayal police station, said that police had collected the CDR of Prakash’s mobile number and scrutinising them to identify the caller. The SHO said that police had deployed a Chowkidar for the protection of Prakash, a native of village Itwah under the police station.
