Muzaffarpur : A `Rangdari’ (extortion amount) of two percent of the estimated cost of construction of three godowns of 3 MT capacity each of Bihar state building construction corporation limited has been demanded from contractor Kunal Pandey of Bhojpur district in the name of a notorious criminal Mukesh Pathak. The godowns are being constructed on the campus of Bairginia Bazaar Samiti in Sitamarhi district.

SHO, Bairginia police station, Vijay Kumar Singh, while confirming the extortion demand from the contractor Pandey, said that the godowns were being constructed for the storage of foodgrains. The SHO said that an FIR had been lodged on the basis of written complaint of Pandey and investigation had begun into it. Pandey is a native of Simaria under Barhara police station in Bhojpur district.
