Saharsa : Pappau Kumar, who along with his associate Prem Raj, was caught by the residents of village Gorhi Goriyari while escaping on his bike after looting the bike, Rs 10,000 cash, and mobile phone, from Akhilesh Kumar of village Sarauni under Mahishi police station in Saharsa District in North Bihar, on January 7, 2022, evening, and handed over to police after hrashing, escaped from Sadar Hospital through the window of toilet in handcuff the same night giving a slip to the two Chowkidars. Police are conducting the raids to arrest Pappu Kumar, who was under police custody.
Pahishi police had admitted Pappu Kumar to Sadar Hospital, Saharsa under police custody for treatment as he was thrashed by the villagers and was injured. Pappu Kumar is a resident of village Bhatrandha under Ghailar PS in neighbouring Madhepura District.gone to toilet and escaped The Chowkidars said that Pappu had gone to the toilet to attend the call of nature but escaped through its window.
Pappu Kumar, Prem Raj, and their two friends riding two bikes had looted Akhilesh Kumar, who immediately informed the police. The four criminals were standing near Gorhi Chowk looking for their next target. But, Mahishi police reached there. Seeing cops, the four criminals escaped from there. While two criminals escaped but Pappu Kumar and Prem Raj were caught by the villagers and beaten up. Soon police reached there and the villagers handed over the two criminals to them.
SDPO Sadar Kumar and SHO, Mahishi PS, Shivshankar Kumar, refused to speak on the matter.
