Ara : Hundreds of activists of the CPI(ML) led by their leader Qyamuddin Ansari staged gherao of Ara block office and also staged a day long dharna there on August 12, 2017, demanding 5 decimal of land to the landless persons. They also raised slogans against the CM Nitish Kumar, state government and Bhojpur district administration.
Speaking on the occasion, Quamuddin Ansari said that every government talks of the welfare of the poor, dalits and mahadalits but the ground reality belies the tall claims. Mahatma Gandhi had raised the issue of land for the poor during his Champaran movement in 1917 and CM Nitish Kumar is celebrating its centenary and touring different districts as part of his ‘saath nischay yatra’ promising drinking water, road, sanitation and land to everyone but the poor are cursed to live in unhygienic condition. The CM, he said had assured poor of 5 decimal of land to each family but it remains an assurance. He also blamed Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi for scam in Bhagalpur and demanded his resignation.
