Bagaha: The  CPI (ML) activists staged a day long dharna at Ambedkar statue, Bagaha, in West Champaran district on Tuesday in support of seven  shop-keepers of Nawaki bazar Bagaha whose shops were razed to the ground recently by some criminals. The dharna was led by CPI(ML) leaders Birendra Gupata and DN Dwivedi.

The West Champaran unit of CPI(ML), in its inquiry report, said that goons allegedly supported by the BJP in the Jungle Raj of Grand Alliance government razed to ground seven shops in Bagaha market using JCB machine and bulldozer on September 3 night. It said that the incident had exposed police-criminals nexus.

The CPI(ML) activists demanded compensation to the shopkeepers, reconstruction of their shops and a judicial probe into the incident. They also demanded immediate suspension of Bagaha police stationSHO. The ML leaders announced at the dharna venue that the party will stage  dharna and demonstration  at district headquarters, Bettiah, in support the seven shopkeeper on September 8,2016. A memorendom was handed over to SDM Bagaha Dharmendar Kumar by a delegation of CPI(ML) led by Birendra Gupta.
