Buxar: Buxar police, on a tip off, conducted raids at different villages under Navanagar, Sikraul and Vasudeva police stations on Monday and seized 156 bottles of India Manufactured Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and also arrested four persons in this connection.

SDPO, Dumraon Sub-Division of Buxar district, Kamalapati Singh said that he received information that liquor was being carried in an Indica from Nawanagar police station area. He along with police force chased the vehicle and intercepted it near Kesath Bhatta bridge. When the car was searched, police seized 96 bottles of IMFL and also arrested driver Mantu Pandey of village Bhakura under Tarari police station in Bhojpur district and Prashant Tiwari of village Barisawan village under Shahpur police station in Bhojpur district. On their revelation, police conducted raid at village  Pawarpur under Basudeva police outpost and the house of Kamal Singh of Bhadar village under Sikraul police station and seized 60 bottles of IMFL and arrested Vikas Kumar alias Vikky and Kamal Singh.

The SDPO said that police were working to arrest the liquor mafias but are crippled for want of proper information. He appealed the people to inform the police about liquor business or the liquor mafias and assured that their names would remain secret.
