Contractor shot dead at Ara

Ara : Some armed persons shot at and seriously injured Krishna Ranjan Pandey alias Kakku Pandey, former general secretary of Bhojpur unit of  JD (U), and contractor, Ara Municipal Corporation (AMC),  on August 17, 2017, late evening. He died on way Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH).

Police sources said that a contractor Bholu Singh had taken some money from the deceased but did not return. Kakku Pandey always demanded the money back which often led to quarrel between the  two. On August 17 late evening, the miscreants shot at and injured him near Ramana Maidan under Town police station, Ara, and later threw him at Ara Sadar Hospital. The doctors at the hospital referred him to PPMCH in view of his critical condition but he succumbed to his injuries on way to Patna. Later, police brought the body to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem at about 2 am on August 18.

Bhojpur SP Awakash Kumar immediately took action and asked the SHO, Town police station, under what circumstances Pandey was shot at. The SP directed the SDPO Sanjay Kumar to inquire into the incident.
