Nawada : Clashes between two groups at village Baghibagdiha under Warisaliganj police station, which started on March 13, continued for the second day on March 14, 2017, leaving many injured. Nawada DM, SP, civil SDO and SDPO have rushed to the spot with additional forces.
According to reports, people from one group objected to the passing of the traditional “jhumta” procession of another group on the occasion of Holi festival on March 13. The blocking of the road-route to prevent passing of the procession was resented by the rival group leading to heavy stone pelting from both sides. However, before the situation could worsen, a fragile truce was brokered by SDPO Ram Pukar Singh.
But unidentified miscreants later in the night set ablaze the paddy hay-stock of a farmer Balak Yadav leading to second round of stone pelting on March 14 leading to injuries to many from both sides. Nawada DM Manoj Kumar, SP Vikash Burman have rushed to the site to restore peace at the village.
