Patna: Nikhil Priyadarshi, owner of an automobile showroom at Patna, was arrested by SIT, Patna, on March 14, 2017, morning under Laxman Jhula police station in Pauri Garhwal district in Uttrakhand state, for allegedly sexually exploiting a girl, daughter of a former minister. Nikhil was refused bail by the court in the case.
Confirming arrest of Nikhil, SSP Patna Manu Maharaaj said that Nikhil was arrested while on way to a temple. He was staying at a hotel there after his escape from Patna. Replying to a query, SSP Maharaaj said that Nikhil’s father Krishna Bihari Prasad Sinha, a retired IAS officer, was also arrested along with his son. The SIT also seized their Audi car bearing Haryana number. It had become a high profile case since the girl happened to be daughter of a former minister. She had lodged a case with SC/ST police on December 22, 2016, alleging her sexual exploitation by Nikhil. The SIT is bringing both Nikhil and his father to Patna.
The SIT had been tracking Nikhil’s mobile number and even email location for the past several days. Nikhil’s brother Manish and his two friends, who were earlier arrested by the SIT, had also given vital clues to regarding his whereabouts. But, Uttrakhand police have allegedly claimed that Pauri Garhwal police had arrested Nikhil and his father in a case registered with B Colony police station, Patna, and informed Patna police about it.
