Ara : Hundreds of activists of the Chhatra Janata Dal (U) led by their Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU), Ara, unit president, Avinaash Rao took out a procession that passed through the main thoroughfares of the town and culminated in front of the office of the Vice Chancellor, VKSU, on May 1, 2017, where they burnt the effigy of PM Narendra Modi in protest against slashing of number of seats in B Ed course in IGNOU to 25 only from 1,300 in Bihar.
Speaking on the occasion, Avinsh Kumar said that the Central Government was giving a raw deal to Bihar and a glaring example of it is slashing of number of seats in the B Ed course in IGNOU. He alleged that the union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar was playing with the future of the Bihari students. He said the students would not tolerate it and threatened to launch an aggressive and phasewise agitation against the Union Government if the number of seats in B Ed course in the IGNOU is not restored to 1,300 immediately.
