Ara : A Canteen Manger fell from a running train in the wee hour on March 17, 2020, near Ara railway station and died on the spot. Ara Government Rail Police (GRP) recovered the body and brought it over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.

The deceased was identified as Anil Bhattacharya, 55, son of Satyendra Nath Bhattacharya of 18 Rutimahal, Gora Bazaar Bahrampur, Murshidabad in West Bengal. H was Manager of a canteen at Ara railway station. He is survived by his wife Pratima Bhattacharya, son Deep Jyoti, and daughter Rupma Bhattacharya.

SHO, GRP, Ara, said that Anil Bhattacharya was coming to Ara from West Bengal on Howrah-Amritsar Express train. In his bid to get down from the train, he slipped and came under the wheel of a running train and was killed on the spot near Platform No 2, Ara railway station, under Danapur Division of East Central Railway (ECR), Hajipur.
