Buxar: Buxar SP Upendra Sharma suspended three police constables and a Havildar for letting a notorious criminal and an inmate of Buxar Central Jail Kuber Sharma escape from a Rest House at Patna. The SP ordered the SDPO, Dumraon, to inquire into the matter.

SDPO, Dumrao, Kamlapati Singh said that an inmate of Buxar jail, Kuber Sharma had complained of some medical problems and was referred to the IGIMS for treatment. The Buxar SP sent him to the IGIMS under tight security on August 14, 2016, and sent three police constables and a Havildar to escort him to the IGIMS. But, the cops did not take him to the IGIMS and stayed at Chandra Rest House at Raza Bazaar, Patna. As per plan, three rooms were already booked at the Rest House. Kuber Sharam stayed in a room with his fiancée and in the second room his relatives while in the third room police personnel stayed. Kuber Sharma and his family members gave a slip to police and escaped.

The SDPO said that the Kuber’s fiancée along with her brother, Kuber’s mother Shail Kumari Devi, brothers: Ravi Mishra and Pankaj Mishra, had come to the Rest House and had booked three rooms. The police personnel were allegedly given a handsome amount for this meeting. When police personnel knew that they were deceived, they lodged an FIR with Shashtrinagar police station saying that Kuber Sharma escaped from their custody. The SDPO said that involvement of police personnel and the family members of Kuber was confirmed during investigation and the register and CCTV of the Rest House had all records.
