Buxar : Fast Track Court II, Buxar, On September 29, 2018, sentenced to rigorous life imprisonment two persons : Nanhe Lal Pandey and Jagat Pandey, and also slapped a fine of Rs 1 lakh on each of them in connection with the murder of a person in 2007. The court also issued non-bailable warrant against Ashok Pandey as he did not turn up in the court on September 29. The court ordered for payment of 80% of the fine to the deceased’s wife and the rest 20% will be deposited in the state exchequer.
Mahendra Pandey, son of Kailash Pandey, was shot dead at village Sitabpur under Dhansoi police station in Buxar district on September 20, 2007, when he was sitting at the threshold of his house. A named FIR was lodged with Dhansoi police station against 14 persons including Om Prakash Pandey, Nanhe Lal Pandey, Ashok Kumar Pandey and Jagat Pandey on the statement of the deceased’s brother but police after investigation acquitted 10 of the named accused and filed chargesheet against Om Prakash Pandey, Ashok Pandey, Nanhe Lal Pandey and Jagat Pandey. After the incident, Om Prakash Pandey is evading arrest and so the trial of only the three persons took place, said the APP Triloki Mohan.
